Growers donate Christmas trees to military families

Oregon Christmas tree growers are taking part in a nationwide program that donates Christmas trees to the families of U.S. troops.

The Trees for Troops program will collect and deliver more than 3,500 trees to families at five military bases across the United States. Trees from Oregon will be delivered to families Camp Pendleton in Southern California.

Participating Oregon farms include Forest Hills Farms of Hillsboro, Holiday Tree Farms of Corvallis; Silver Mountain Christmas Trees of Sublimity; Silver Bells Tree Farm of Silverton; Drake’s Crossing Nursery of Silverton; Helmig Tree Farm of Molalla; Holiday Specialtrees of Woodburn; Yule Tree Farms of Canby; and Noble Mountain Tree Farm of Salem.
